FAQ

  • How is your pottery created?

Our pottery is handmade in small batches in Austin, Texas. Each piece begins with an idea, followed by sketches that guide the creation process. The forms are shaped on the pottery wheel before being trimmed and then dried for approximately 1 to 2 weeks. Once completely dry, they undergo a bisque firing in the electric kiln at Cone 04, which reaches around 1,945°F. This bisque firing solidifies the vessels enough for the glazing process.

After glazing, the vessels undergo the final glaze firing at Cone 6, which occurs at approximately 2,232°F. This process fully vitrifies the pottery, making it durable, watertight, and complete.

Due to the intricate nature of this handmade process, each piece is unique—no two pieces are the same. Rather than being twins, they are more like sisters.

This philosophy resonates with Wabi-sabi, a Japanese aesthetic that embraces the beauty of imperfection, impermanence, and simplicity. It finds value in the natural, transient, and understated aspects of life and objects.

  • Where can I purchase your work?

You can purchase items online. If you are local to Austin, I am a part of Canopy Studios where artists open their studios to the public for viewing and purchase every first Saturday of the month. I also sell locally at Take Heart. More stockists will be announced soon.

  • This is a frequently asked question?

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
